Filmby Aarhus

Filmby Aarhus is a project and a place. We are situated on the waterfront in Aarhus city.
Our site covers a total of 12,000 m2, of which 10,000 m2 are used for offices and production facilities for companies in the audiovisual industries. The remaining 2000 m2 represent two professional film studios and associated production facilities.
Our intention is to help gather, focus and create momentum and growth in production of motion pictures. In order to do this we work with the whole film industry in the region and relate to all players in the audiovisual industries. We also look to the entire Danish film industry and to potential partners around the world, primarily in Europe.

Filmby Aarhus is driven by business, political and cultural visions of growth and diversity within the film industry in the Municipality of Aarhus. Our objective is that the Aarhus area must be at the forefront of developments within audiovisual activity.
Our primary focus is on generating growth and creativity in production for film, television and new media, so that Aarhus is both internally and externally perceived as a city with big ambitions and opportunities within the creative cultural industries.

We believe that the Aarhus region has great resources, ingenuity and potentials within the variety of creative, technical and organizational functions that are part of the development and production of fiction films, documentaries, television programs, commercials, games and other exciting audio-visual products. As something new we offer a film record of working professional filmmakers in Jutland. An overview of professional resources is a crucial factor when it comes to implementing a quality production.

Our mission in Filmby Aarhus is to perform work that could push the development of the audiovisual industries, primarily within moving images. We will do this by creating contacts and networking, through the dissemination of knowledge and information and through initiatives to attract new players. We see this as an important base for cultivating new skills and enhancing empowerment. Through a wide range of courses and workshops we aim to encourage and continue education and inspiration.
